A chocolate labradoodle is generally a big dog and can be a good 25 to 45 inches tall. They can weigh anywhere between 35 to 75 pounds. If a breeder chooses a toy poodle, then the dog might be a little one. These mini chocolate Labradoodles can be 14 to 16 inches tall and weigh anywhere between 15 to 25lbs.

The ears of a Labradoodle are drooped, they have a long tail and a long snout. A fun fact about Chocolate Labradoodles is that they can never have a black nose due to their genes. They will always have a brown or liver-colored nose. So if a breeder tries to trick you and sell some other dog, keep this in mind.

Labradoodles can come in three different coat types. Straight coat, curly coat, and shaggy coat. A Labradoodle with a dominant poodle gene will have a curly coat. The straight coat is a fairly rare coat type in Labradoodles. This coat type occurs when the Labrador gene is dominant. The shaggy coat is the most common coat type in these dogs. The shaggy coat is very dense and the hair looks somewhat wavy.

First of all, the color of the coat has absolutely nothing to do with the temperament of a dog. So all Labradoodles, no matter their coat colour will show certain [ersonality traits. However, since Labradoodle is a mixed breed, every pup will be different.

The pup’s temperament will depend on two things. One, the gene of the parents and two, the personality of the parent. Depending on which parent the pup takes more characteristics from will define the temperament of the pup.

But there are some common characteristics that you can expect in your labradoodle. These dogs are generally loving, full of energy and playful. Both the parent breeds are people-loving, so the Labradoodle is highly likely to be a social dog too.

Grooming your Labradoodle can be a task if your dog has a curly or shabby coat. These coat types are really dense and often hard to brush. Longer hair tends to get tangled and dirty very easily. If your Labradoodle is an active dog and goes out often, you will have to give it a bath regularly.

After you give your Labradoodle a bath, make sure to dry their coat and brush their hair. You shouldn’t really face a problem with shedding as Labradoodles don’t shed a lot.

Take your dog for professional grooming at least once in two months because their coats can get really long and they might need haircuts. Moreover, keep a check for lice and other little insects developing on their coat.

Generally, Labradoodles aren’t known to have any common health conditions. They might inherit health issues from their parents though. But even if your Labradoodle is absolutely healthy, you should not skip regular check-ups.

These are active dogs and they need some exercise to channel their energy. So take your dog on regular walks to ensure good health. You can ask your breeder for the food habits of the Labradoodle, and the brand of dog food that might be best suited. Don’t overfeed your dog as this might cause more health issues.
